The list of MCAT books below will either make your heart throb or give you palpitations!!! There are so many choices on this list of MCAT test prep books in 2019, and so little time….
One does not simply take the MCAT…it’s something done carefully, following a decisive plan. Which is why we recommend taking your time scanning the MCAT prep book reviews posted on Amazon.com showing Amazon best sellers, and the Student Doctor Network (and of course this website with a comprehensive list of MCAT prep books!) to determine the best MCAT test prep books for you. Check out my reviews of the best MCAT prep materials by Examkrackers, Berkeley Review, Princeton Review and Kaplan.
***The ideal time is NOW to schedule your MCAT test date, and arrange for a prep class. Here are the best MCAT prep course discounts and MCAT promo codes we could find on the Kaplan MCAT prep course (use code GET300) or Princeton Review MCAT prep courses.
What are the best MCAT prep books for me?
Each line of MCAT prep books in this list of MCAT books has unique strengths and weaknesses (i.e. depth of review, cost, emphasis on content vs. practice, similarity to the actual MCAT, etc.). It’s not a one-size-fits-all purchase. And that’s why we put together this list of best books for MCAT prep: it gives you a broader view of all your options. You deserve to go into the MCAT with confidence that whatever top rated MCAT prep books you used helped, not hurt, your score.
There’s value in picking and choosing from more than one MCAT test prep company, depending on your weak spots are and time available for MCAT prep. I was especially weak in critical analysis and reasoning, so, although I went with the TBR full MCAT book set, I also sprang for the Examkrackers Reasoning Skills and the Kaplan Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. I’m glad I did, because in just one month’s time, my CARS score shot up.
The list of MCAT books below should be current for all of your 2019 needs. Post 2015, the content on the MCAT has been pretty consistent, but some companies have newer versions and updated inventories. Everything listed below should reflect the newest and best MCAT prep books for 2019.
If you’re inclined to forego the MCAT self-study route, or want to try a combination of personal study plus taking an MCAT prep course, you can check here for courses by Kaplan (click Kaplan HERE for a $225 MCAT prep discount) and The Princeton Review (click HERE for $300 Off Ultimate Courses) . You can either slot a two-month study session after school ends, or buy a self-paced MCAT prep course you can finish over several months (both options offer you the same material but the second option allows you to finish the MCAT course on your own schedule).
